Saturday night saw the end of the first ever series of Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions, and while I personally was happy with the result – it seems my sentiment was not echoed by quite a lot of fans.
SPOILERS BELOW. IF YOU’VE NOT WATCHED THE FINAL YET DO NOT LOOK FURTHER.
Dance duo Twist and Pulse, real names Ashley Glazebrook (Twist) and Glen Murphy (Pulse), went on to win the show after the super-fans in the audience voted them the ultimate champions, but many viewers on Twitter disagreed with their choice.
One user wrote: “Britain’s Got Talent, The Champions was very good. A lot of talent. However although Twist and Pulse are very good at what they do, for me my champion was Alexa and her dogs. This was the best dog act I have ever seen.”
twist and pulse winning #BGTChampions is worse than brexit— Jo Imogen (@JoannaImmy) October 5, 2019
Another wrote: “what a joke. Twist and Pulse winners, never. Who are these super fans because they wouldn’t know talent if it bit them on the arse.”
A third angrily commented: “Twist and Pulse? Like out of ALL even Susan Boyle? What? I mean, admittedly I’ve not been watching this because I’d rather gauge my eyeballs out than watch any more sh*te with tired old Simon Cowell but how on EARTH did they whittle that down?!”
Well what a bag of crap, how did twist and pulse win it?! The dog girl or sand woman didn't even make the final 3? Very disappointing 😒#BGTChampions— Kelly Lyddon (@KellyDavey1980) October 5, 2019
Maybe next series (if they do it again) they should probably let the general public vote for their champion.
