Burger King has gone full savage with their latest marketing scheme – they’ve trolled their competitor in the smartest way possible.
The fast food restaurant has changed its profile picture on all their social media channels to take the mickey out of IHOP (International House of Pancakes), who recently announced that they were rebranding to IHOb (International House of Burgers). Basically, they just wanted to celebrate the fact they’re launching burgers. There’s no harm in that, is there? Well… turns out you can’t do anything these days without being mercilessly trolled.
Just look at Burger King’s response…
Fans were loving the bit of banter between the two chains, with one writing: “I’m going to buy a burger now just because you guys made me laugh lol thank you”, while another added: “In case some of you aren’t getting it… Burger king is throwing shade at ihop, for how ridiculous their little marketing stunt was. And its hilarious.” Thanks for that!
The fact that the pancake house has decided to change its name has sparked a bit of a meme. Many peopbe are now butting the letter ‘b’ into their sentences rather randombly.
Even Netflix got in on the action.
This comes after Netflix went down recently all across the world.
At the time of the issues, all anyone could see was: “Netflix error: this title is not available to watch instantly” on their screens.
In a statement on Twitter Netflix said: “We are aware of members having trouble streaming on all devices. We are investigating the issue and appreciate your patience.”
Luckily, it’s all back to normal now.
