Fans of Rick & Morty have had a very up and down last few months. First it seemed season four was never going to happen, then it was, then it seemed to be coming soon and now it’s back to taking forever.
So when the show’s official Twitter account shared something that resembled new footage from the show, you’d think that would be a good thing.
Only it wasn’t a good thing, instead it seems to have only angered fans who are desperate to get some real updates on when the next season will arrive.

The whole thing has been made worse by co-creator Justin Roiland’s promise of 70 additional new episodes. I mean, the clip barely gives anything away does it?
It’s just a trippy animation of the characters morphing into weird monsters and not much else.

Concrete details on the arrival of the new season are still extremely sparse. Following that 70 episode confirmation back in May 2018 it’s been pretty quiet.

Ryan Ridley, a writer and producer on the show, said back in January 2018 that the fourth season could arrive in late 2019.
“They really take their time,” he told the Detroit Cast. “I’m just shocked that it’s taking [so long] – we got done writing season 3 in November of last year and here we are 11 months later,” he added. “And then I know how long the show takes to write, let alone animate, so it’s just like, I’d be surprised if there was a fourth season on the air any sooner than 2019 – in late 2019.”
