The Central Park Six are coming back into our lives to mark the 25th anniversary of Freinds. Sadly, it’s not that big reunion we’re all hoping for. Starring Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, and Matt LeBlanc, David Crane and Marta Kauffman’s ironic comedy about twentysomethings became a global sensation.

Seeing Aniston’s Rachel Green burst into the coffee house wearing a wedding dress on September 22, 1994, no one could’ve known what an icon of the small screen Friends would become.

Although the show left our screen over 15 years ago, that hasn’t stopped its loyal following of Friends fanatics keeping a special place open in their hearts.

Twelve of the show’s best-loved episodes are coming to the silver screen to mark this momentous milestone. Dubbed “Friends 25th: The One With The Anniversary”, the event is hitting 1,000 US cinemas on September 23, September 28, and October 2. Each episode comes accompanied by behind-the-scenes footage and exclusive cast interviews.

It’s unclear how these “fan-favourite” episodes were selected, but it’s interesting to note there are none from Season 7 onwards included in the selection.

Friends Chandler In A Box

You can still watch: “Pilot –ReDo”, “The One With The Black Out”, “The One With The Birth”, “The One Where Ross Finds Out”, “The One With The Prom Video”, “The One Where No One’s Ready”, “The One With The Morning After”, “The One With The Embryos”, “The One With Chandler In A Box”, “The One With Ross’s Wedding – Part 2”, “The One Where Everyone Finds Out”, “The One Where Ross Got High”.

Warner Bros. Television’s Lisa Gregorian said, “The cultural impact that Friends continues to have, 25 years after its premiere, is astounding, a true testament to the genius of Marta Kauffman, David Crane, Kevin Bright and the incredibly talented cast.

“It is so amazing to know that the series is still bringing people of all ages together.

“We could not be more excited to deliver these digitally remastered episodes to theaters – for the first time ever! – so that together, in a shared experience, our loyal fans can enjoy some of their favourite Friends scenes in a new way.”

Elsewhere, FreindsFest is back with a bang to celebrate the festive season. Grab your guitar to sing Phoebe’s Christmas song, practice Ross and Monica’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rocking Eve dance, and hang out the Holiday Armadillo.

According to the official site, FriendsFestive is coming to London and sounds like it’s well worth a visit to this winter wonderland. FriendsFestive is in partnership with Luna Cinema and will be held at Truman Brewery in Brick Lane from November 28 to December 21.

It’s unclear whether “Friends 25th: The One With The Anniversary” will come to the UK, but with September 24 fast approaching, I feel there would’ve been an announcement by now. Oh well, can’t win ’em all.
