Love Island Responds To Fake Claims About Sherif’s Shock Exit

It’s not an ideal situation.

With Sherif’s untimely departure rocking the Love Island villa, producers of the show have something of a logistical headache.

In the wake of his departure, the rumour mill kicked into overdrive with viewers giving their own opinions on why Sherif may have left the villa.

One of the more-believed theories came via an Instagram screenshot, claiming to be taken from Sherif’s account, that claimed he had a confrontation with Anton that ended with security having to separate the two.

The screenshots captured an apparent conversation between Sherif and his friend, discussing the reason behind his exit.

However a Love Island representative has confirmed to OK! that those screenshots are indeed fake.

Following the news of his departure, Sherif said in a statement: “In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.

“I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20-year-old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.

“I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside.”

A Love Island spokesman added: “After breaking the villa rules Sherif had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the Love Island villa.”

It’s still unclear just what rule Sherif broke to warrant being kicked off the show but his leaving has a whole different set of issues for the format of the show.

With a recouping imminent, his leaving the villa left and last night’s announcement that two more girls would be entering, there’s a serious imbalance on the show.
