Michael B. Jordan Could Reportedly Replace Henry Cavill As Superman

It recently surfaced that Henry Cavill would be hanging up his cape, and calling a time on his stint as arguably the world’s most famous superhero.

Of course, following the news came the speculation of who could be slipping into the famous spandex next. This is Superman after all, so it’s got to be someone pretty special.

Well, how about the star of Black Panther?

According to Deadline, Michael B. Jordan could be lined up to front a completely new approach to the Superman franchise.

That being said, any plans to move ahead with any kind of new plans may be some time away.

That’s because a Supergirl movie currently lies at the top of Warner Bros. priorities, with a script for the film currently in the works.

It doesn’t stop us fantasising about Jordan tackling the role though, given his outstanding performance as Killmonger in Black Panther, he certainly knows how to take on these kinds of roles.

The film itself was an unprecedented success, with Disney reportedly so proud of the creation, they’re going after a ton of awards for it.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the studio has submitted its ‘For your consideration’ list to next year’s Academy Awards, with their entries including:

Best Picture, Best Director (Ryan Coogler), Best Actor (Chadwick Boseman), Best Supporting Actor (Michael B. Jordan), Best Supporting Actress (Lupita Nyong’o), Best Adapted Screenplay, Cinematography, Film Editing, Costume Design, Visual Effects, Original Score and Original Song (for ‘All the Stars’).

So you know, pretty much all of them.

Upcoming movies for Warner Bros. / DC include Aquaman on Dec. 21, Shazam! on April 5, 2019; Todd Phillips’ The Joker on Oct. 4, and Wonder Woman 1984 on Nov. 1, 2019.
