She’s known for her dark brunette hair while playing Alex Dunphy on the popular series Modern Family, but it seems that Ariel Winter has decided to completely change her look following the series ending, and she’s opted for a new strawberry blonde do’.
The 21-year-old recently revealed that she would be completely up to starring in a Modern Family spin-off after the series comes to an end this year. Speaking to E! News, the actress said: “I’m never going to say ‘absolutely not’ to something,”
“If it got presented to me or anybody, I’m sure we’d definitely think about [it]. We’d never be ‘absolutely not’, we wouldn’t do that.”
ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke voiced interest in a spinoff in February.
Ariel also revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that once the show ends she plans to tackle more diverse and complex roles.
“I want to do something completely different from what I’ve always done … I think I have a lot to grow on, and I feel lucky that this was one of my first experiences moving into that next chapter,” Winter said while discussing her appearance on Law & Order: SVU.
“I want to do drama. I want to do more complex roles. I want to challenge myself. I want to grow,” she added. “So I’m definitely looking forward to what I can do once the show’s over.”
In May, Modern Family co-creator Steve Levitan, spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the final season and said that, at that time, the plan was for it to be 18 episodes long.
“[Co-creator and co-showrunner] Chris Lloyd and I have agreed to do 18 episodes [next] season,” Levitan told THR, “but this is an ongoing conversation, and if it makes sense creatively to do more, we’re possibly open to that. Our number one focus is to end strong with a great finale.
The last ever season of Modern Family has officially begun airing on American TV after it debuted on September 25.
