Though Stranger Things may have come to a close for now, it doesn’t stop us looking back on another incredible season.
Since its release back in 2016, the sci-fi horror has become one of Netflix’s most popular and best-loved creations.
As is the case with any great show, there’s a rollercoaster of highs and lows throughout. Across the two seasons we’ve had to say goodbye to a number of characters.
Two that hit the hardest though came in season two. Bob Newby, Joyce’s new love interest fell victim to a Demogorgon in genuinely heroic fashion. Dustin’s cat, Mews, also fell victim to a Demogorgon, in much less heroic fashion.
However, both characters have been fittingly paid tribute to, as Netflix brought the pair together for a touching reunion video in which they revisit their bleak endings.
Season three of Stranger Things has already been confirmed. David Harbour has previously indicated that the third instalment probably won’t arrive until 2019.
Whilst plot details remain a mystery as of yet, by the way season two ended, it seems the storyline is going to extend on past the town of Hawkins.
According to the Duffer Brothers, we haven’t seen the last of the Mind Flayer;
”They’ve shut the door on the Mind Flayer, but not only is it still there in the Upside Down, it’s very much aware of the kids, and particularly Eleven. It had not encountered her and her powers until that final episode. Now, it knows that she’s out there. We wanted to end on a little bit of an ominous note.”
It’s also expected that season three will be the penultimate outing, describing it as a “four season thing and then out”.
