First, it was Ed Sheeran, and now, Nicki Minaj confirms she’s retiring from music. The “Anaconda” singer has had an elusive career in the music business, but at the age of just 36, Minaj (real name Onika Tanya Maraj) confirms she’s stepping out of the limelight to focus on her family.
Known for her larger than life personality and never being one to hold her tongue, Minaj has had a string of hits that include the likes of “Super Bass”, “Starships”, and “Swalla”. As one of the best-selling female artists of all time, her presence has definitely been felt.

Posting on Twitter, Minaj told her fans: “I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE.”
Minaj says she’s ready to settle down with Kenneth Petty and potentially start a family. Her fans are clearly shocked by the news and have poured their support on the artist’s tweet.
