In fact students often become a major target of crime, particular break-ins. Rarely the most secure, large numbers of valuable items and students out at university make student houses prime targets for thieves.

This list details the 10 safest university cities in the UK, based on the number of crimes per 1,000 people. Unsurprisingly the ‘big cities’ – place like Manchester, Liverpool, London all miss out.
