As if the rogue coffee cups and water bottles weren’t bad enough, someone has spotted another major blunder from the final season of Game of Thrones.
Turns out this one is the biggest gaff yet, coming after Daenerys had burned King’s Landing to the ground.
Thrones fans had become used to seeing the city through Cersei’s rather scenic viewpoint at the top of her tower.
Over the years we’ve witnessed Cersei casting her eye over her city, a stunning landscape surrounded by sea with jaw-dropping mountains providing a stunning backdrop.
Only the show seemed to forget about those mountains by the end of the last series.
A Reddit user brought the mishap into the public eye, sharing the above photo from season 6 compared to a shot of the same city in season 8.
“Remember when King’s Landing had mountains?” BelgianVictim wrote.
Despite the blunders, the cast of the show have continued to stand by the show and its writers.
“I read other scripts now and think, ‘This is trash!’ The stories are just not complex,” she said. “And then sometimes you read a script which is definitely like 30 pages too long and you think, ‘But there’s still no twist!’”
Williams went on to discuss how it was Thrones’ famous twists that made the series so special.
“It’s sometimes really difficult to find something that surprises you. I think that’s what the show has always done so well.”
“And you can’t do that sort of writing unless you’re good at writing because otherwise it just becomes sort of nonsensical and you’re just being shocking for the sake of being shocking rather than writing something that’s believable.”
