A 22-year-old student became worried when details he shared on a private message board were shared on social media by his teammates.
Edward Senior was a student at Swansea Medical School, part of the city’s university. He had shared details of a fling in private with his team, however once the comments were made public multiple students including the girl involved saw his message.
He reportedly became scared of being expelled from the university. Ending his ambitions of becoming a doctor, according to The Telegraph.
Following the incident Edward returned to his family home, where he was found hanged in woodland. Edward died on the 10th February.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to allow his family to set up a foundation in his name.
“In honour of Ted, it is the family’s wish to set up a foundation in his name. This will be an organic process with funds raised being invested in projects and forums aimed at preventing a reoccurrence of a similar tragedy.”
Swansea University refused to say if the student had been suspended in the days leading up to his death.
A spokeswoman said: “We were very saddened to hear of the death of Edward Senior, a student at our Medical School.
“Our thoughts and sympathies are with his family and friends at this time.”
