Student Problems Investigates: Student Mental Health Part One

A growing issue that still clings to its stigma.

Last year Bristol University was rocked by a tragic string of suicides, highlighting the issue of student mental health more than ever before.

Student Problems teamed up with CALM. An award winning charity dedicated to preventing male suicide. We produced a documentary exploring the reasons behind the alarming rise in student suicides.

Suicide is the single biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK. Taking a man’s life every two hours, whilst female suicides are at the highest they have been in a decade.

One in four students say they suffer with their mental health. 82% saying they suffer from some kind of stress and anxiety, 71% citing university work as one of their leading causes of stress.
