The Church Of Satan Thanked Christian Bale For His Golden Globes Acceptance Speech

Yep, that happened.

Christian Bale is undoubtedly one of the most talented and driven actors of his generation.

His commitment to roles is something that has been well-documented, undergoing extreme weight shifts on a regular basis to capture whichever character he’s playing.

It’s probably no surprise then that the actor took home a best actor award at last night’s Golden Globes for his portrayal of former US vice president Dick Cheney in Vice.

“Governor George W Bush of Texas picks Dick Cheney, the CEO of Halliburton Co, to be his Republican running mate in the 2000 presidential election. No stranger to politics, Cheney’s impressive résumé includes stints as White House chief of staff, House Minority Whip and defence secretary. When Bush wins by a narrow margin, Cheney begins to use his newfound power to help reshape the country and the world.”

Accepting his award Bale thanked Satan for helping him place such “charisma-free a**holes”.

Though his comments were obviously intended as a joke, people were quick to criticise his acknowledgement.

Not all the response to Bale’s acceptance speech was negative though, in fact the official Church of Satan Twitter account thanked the actor for his comments, before continuing on to poke fun at anyone who criticised his words.
