Over the course of nine seasons, Walking Dead fans have had to wave goodbye to a number of their beloved characters. That’s just the nature of a post-apocalyptic world where everything and everyone is trying to kill each other.
While many of the departures have seemed pretty final, season ten looks set to actually bring back a long-lost character.
Cyndie, who first appeared in season seven with the introduction of the Oceanside community seemed to disappear three episodes into the ninth season.
Turns out that fans haven’t seen the last of Sydney Park’s character, judging by her latest Instagram post.
Sharing a snap of her character, she wrote: “Walking Dead Season 10 biiiiitccchhhesss” which seems pretty conclusive.
We also know an iconic comic book character has been cast for season ten.
While Lauren Cohan’s Maggie Rhee is currently MIA on The Walking Dead, the show has drafted in her comic book love interest in Season 10. Welcome to the family Dante.
After the first look at Season 10 showed those stalwart survivors in action, the network confirms Juan Javier Cardenas will play Dante. The NCIS: Los Angeles and Lethal Weaponstar is set to have a big part in The Walking Dead‘s next chapter.
Dante’s comic book storyline should at least point to what we can expect from his live-action counterpart. In Robert Kirkman’s comics, the Widow Rhee didn’t live up to her namesake forever after Glenn’s brutal batting. Maggie eventually found Dante as a new love interest out there in the apocalyptic wasteland of Earth.
Last month, showrunner Angela Kang confirmed Dante would be making his long-awaited arrival. She told Entertainment Weekly, “We’ll be meeting the character Dante from the comics…He is this roguish, fast-talking, sometimes charming, sometimes annoying guy who can sometimes put his foot in his mouth, but is an interesting presence in the comics.”
