If you love gaming, you probably despise any time that you have to stay somewhere that isn’t your own house. That’s where your set-up is, that’s where all your games are… it’s home.
Luckily for us, a hotel in Taiwan has decided to cash in on this unique clientele and has made a place to stay with gamers specifically in mind.
What a brilliant idea. Who cares about the sh*tty channels on TV. Either give me Netflix or move on. The next best thing is surely gaming, so why not tailor a hotel to people with those needs? Love it. Love everything about it.
The incredible place is named iHotel, and every room comes with two computers with i5-7400 processors, 16GB of RAM and a GTX 1080 Ti GPU. Decent.
There’s also DXRacer gaming chairs in every room, lovingly placed next to each other. Aw. Although this makes it seem like you’re going to be sharing a bed with someone, and then playing against them. If they’re a dirty rotten cheater then you might have to get them to sleep in the bath. Or just be good sports, I don’t know. It’s up to you.
According to Mashable, a night at the hotel will set you back around $100 (£73). For some reason, you can also pay an hourly rate (urm…) and that’s just $12 (£8.85) during weekends. Alternatively, you can pay $75 (£55) for 15 hours.
If that wasn’t enough to make you pack up your bags and tell your mates that you’re booking a long-distance flight, there’s also a 46-inch TV screen to watch eSports on, as well as a larger gaming arena in the lobby where you can play against other guests.
It can be found in the Taoyuan district, which is about an hour’s train ride away from Taipei, Taiwan.
