WKD Pink Gin Is Now A Thing, And It’s So Cheap

Pink to make your nostalgia wink

WKD Pink Gin Featured

We’re not here to judge, but chances are you’ve spent a cold winter’s night huddled around your mates in a park and chugging a bottle of blue WKD. My first alcoholic drink was actually WKD (at an undisclosed age), so that luminous alcopop has always held a special place in my heart.

According to The Sun, Pink Gin WKD is coming to Londis stores and it sounds totally ‘WKD’. It looks like Londis accidentally tweeted the news ahead of WKD doing the full unveiling, so it didn’t take long for booze hounds on Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK to pick up on the fan-favourite tipple’s new addition.

Costing £2.99 for 70ml, the Pink Gin WKD has an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 4%. With Londis boasting 1,900 stores around the UK, there are plenty of places you can pick up Pink Gin WKD. It’s unclear whether other shops will stock the drink, so keep your eyes peeled.

Elsewhere, our cupboards are exploding with pink gin goodies. Aldi has brought back its G&T ice lollies after they became best-sellers for the budget supermarket last year with over 280,000 single popsicles sold in just a single week (via Good Housekeeping).

The lollies come in three different flavours – regular G&T, pink gin and a delightful sounding passionfruit gin.

Aldi’s Gin and Tonic, Pink Gin and Passion Fruit Gin infused ice lollies are all 4.5 per cent ABV – similar to most beers and ciders – and are available in packs of four for £2.99.

Finally, Kopparberg is coming through again to make your summer drink choice that little bit tougher.

The ultimate beer garden-brand recently released a Strawberry and Lime flavoured pink gin, much to the excitement of thousands – now the Swedish company has revealed another new offering.

Kopparberg’s new gin flavour is a nod to the drink that put them on the map – Mixed Fruit.

Announcing the news on Twitter, the company wrote: “We aren’t done giving you the best summer ever. A whole new flavour of the #SpiritofKopparberg, Mixed Fruit Premium Gin is coming soon. Exclusively available in selected ASDA stores.”

The new Kopparberg gin hit stores on June 4 and will set you back £20 for a 70cl bottle.

It’s hard enough to avoid having an after-work tipple as it is, let alone when we’re being bombarded by pink gin from every angle. I guess there’s no choice left. If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em (responsibly obviously).
