The cult-classic comedy-horror looks set to celebrate its tenth anniversary with a follow up to the 2009 hit.
Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick spoke to Vulture about their plans for celebrating the anniversary of the film that made them some of Hollywood’s hottest writers.
“Zombieland came out October of 2009. We don’t know what you get someone for their tenth anniversary, but it may be a Zombieland 2.” says Wernick.
And whilst the interview wasn’t concrete confirmation, it seems like it’s all but agreed.
“The hope is that we’re shooting that thing early 2019 for an October of ’19 release,”
“We are sitting on information that we can’t entirely share at this moment,”
“But we can just say we think fans of Zombieland who have been hoping for a Zombieland 2, that we will grant their wish very, very soon.”
As if all of that wasn’t enough good news, Wernick also threw in the added tease that the sequel would feature all of the original cast.
Which means Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin and of course Woody Harrelson should all be returning for the follow up we’ve all dreamed of.
Hopefully Bill Murray will be there too?
